AME Overview
What is AME?
The Association for Manufacturing Excellence is North America's premier organization for the exchange of
knowledge in Organizational Excellence through the implementation of techniques such as Lean Tools,
Leadership, Lean Product Development. Lean Supply Chain and Lean Accounting.
Since our creation as a not-for-profit in 1985, we've grown to have over 5000 members ranging from
executives to senior and middle managers who wish to improve both their organization's and their personal
performance.
We're a community whose members want to improve the competitiveness of their organizations and work together
by sharing knowledge. AME's power is in the mentoring relationships that take place among our members. We
are the only organization that provides company leaders with educational opportunities to learn leading-edge
topics from leaders and fellow practitioners by attending events and through networking.
We offer a forum whereby members can stay current with new and developing management and operational
techniques. There is also the opportunity to stay ahead of competition by reading Target magazine which is
full of case studies and how-tos of practitioner-implemented process improvements. We host regional best
practice seminars and workshops, and organize regional and annual conferences.
AME is run by volunteers from business and academia who relentlessly provide their support, energy and
resources from their organizations to help your company prosper in today's challenging global marketplace.
AME Vision
To be recognized throughout North America as the professional organization where its members, primarily from manufacturers, can learn to add ever-greater value for customers and stakeholders.
AME Mission
To inspire commitment to enterprise excellence through shared learning and access to best practices, so members can personally succeed and help drive their company's success.
